A bit of a rant…So, I am in the FIRE subreddit, and in the last two days have come across multiple posts where the commenters are blatantly misogynistic. “She’s a gold digger” “get a pre-nup” “women have more expensive taste and spend more money” even though the OPs did not provide nearly enough context to draw those kinds of conclusions.

It’s astounding, but not surprising.

They expect women to not make as much money as men and be ok with that, conveniently forget that spending comes in all shapes (plenty of men are willing to shell out on cars, hobbies, etc but it’s only women that will “take you for all your worth”), do not respect the financial contributions of SAHM or working moms, and just generally want all of the financial control.

I guess, for me, the most frustrating part is they would never call themselves sexist and because of that they won’t/can’t recognize when they are being just that.
