I’m not sure if it’s a misogynistic thing or he thinks he’s being chivalrous.
I work at a warehouse for a large company. In inbound, We take in packages, load them onto carts, get on cherry pickers and put the packages away. Then on the other side of the warehouse (outbound) we pick them, put them back on a truck.
The truck is probably the hardest work. It’s hot, you’re constantly moving, and in outbound you’re having to think of how you’re placing boxes so the whole thing doesn’t fall.
I have a coworker who refuses to let “females” get in the truck. At first I thought it was sort of polite, because generally no one likes the work. But it makes time go by quicker than other tasks do so I enjoy it at times.
Today he laughed and asked another coworker if he thought females should be allowed in the truck. I believe now he thinks women just wouldn’t do a good job.
I just think it’s funny. Like, fine, stay in the hot ass truck all day dude. I’ll pass time some other way lmao
