I used to enjoy sneaking a peek over to r/AskMen, because they had some pretty good topics and discussions about all sorts of things, from hobbies and mental health, to things they wished their parents said/did/didn’t do when they were boys, etc. About a year ago, it looked pretty wholesome. During the past few months, I feel like it’s getting progressively radicalized and every second post is just ragebait to hate on women and post gross false generalizations which paint them as victims (such as the fact that women are not stigmatized when they openly talk about sex or have lots of sex, while men are, or such as women being turned off by men who are vulnerable and share their feelings, etc.). And this sub is not the only one, just the best example I can find right now. I find the seeping of incel beliefs, terminology and sheer hate into mainstream subs quite concerning and I fear it’s the result of more ample social trends.
