I’m officially done with TV shows like Yellowjackets and From. They both started off strong, setting up intriguing mysteries, but now they’re following the same frustrating path as Lost and Heroes—dragging things out with pointless filler and endless rabbit holes that lead nowhere.

It’s the same cycle every time:

  1. Season 1: Sets up an incredible mystery that hooks the audience.
  2. Season 2+: Introduces more questions than answers, adds unnecessary side plots, and stalls actual story progress.
  3. Final Season (if we ever get one): Ends in a way that either doesn’t answer anything or feels like a rushed, disappointing mess.

These shows would be so much better if they were capped at 3 seasons, forcing the writers to actually plan the story instead of stretching it out just to keep the series running. But instead, we get entire seasons where characters are just metaphorically (or literally) digging holes that go nowhere.

I get that networks want to milk a successful show, but at some point, the mystery fatigue kicks in, and I just don’t care anymore. If a show’s main draw is the mystery, then it needs to be going somewhere, not running in circles for years.

Anyone else feeling this way? Or am I just being impatient?
