The amount of dates, friends and even family members that just throw misogynistic jokes like they’re the most hilarious thing is just getting frustrating. And I appreciate a good dark joke, some jokes are funny. But it’s those “jokes” that don’t even sound like a joke, no humour in them whatsoever, and keep getting repeated over and over. Like excuse me wtf? If you’ve dated someone like that, or have someone like that in your life, you know exactly what I’m talking about.
What’s really frustrating is I try to explain that they’re not funny. I even explain that people in my country (I come from an extremely misogynistic country) say this stuff unironically. That making a joke that for a lot of people is a tragic reality, is just tasteless. They hit me with the “it’s obviously a joke” or “you know I don’t actually think like that”. I know the joke is objectively not funny, but WHATS THE FREKING POINT OF TELLING ME A JOKE THAT YOU KNOW I WONT FIND FUNNY 😭.
Sorry for the rant, I’m just so over these people.
