I was in a group on Facebook and made a post about the show Arcane on Netflix. A show that I myself was not interested in but decided to watch.

Ended up loving the show. I have recommend the show to three people and 2 did not even bother to watch. And the third responded to my post saying they would check the show out.

Later in the evening they commented back in the post saying I quote …

I watched 5 min then turned it off lol. Started watching night agent. Lol

I never directly recommended the show to them but was excited for them to watch so we maybe could talk about it. But for them to watch 5 minutes just really pissed me off like I made the damn show myself lol.

Its like damn really…you put FIVE WHOLE MINUTES INTO THE SHOW!??

Sure the look of a show may be a turn off but if someone is saying its good I feel like watching 5 minutes is really an …not an insult but in a way disrespectful? It is like do you think shows I recommend only get a measly 5 minutes before you move on to something else!?

I had a friend recommend a MGM+ show called Emperor Of Ocean Park starring Forest Whitaker. I ended up signing up for one month of MGM+ to check it out. I watched 3 episodes and stopped. Not because it was bad it just did not grab me. But I gave it a full 3 episodes. It is actually solid as far as writing and characters just was not feeling that type of show and ended up watching 3 seasons of FROM instead lol.

Have you ever recommended a show or movie that people just blow off or not even give it a chance and then say “not for me”?
