I’m (she her) getting married soon (to a he him) and not changing my last name. I was expecting to revisit the question when we start planning a family. My partner isn’t changing his for a number of reasons which I support, and he only cares that I’m happy with whatever path I choose.
I’ve heard that everyone in a family having the same name is logistically easier. Is that true? I worry about one of us not matching the children’s last name, and if that would cause issues at school or during travel or something.
What have your experiences been?
EDIT: I can’t keep up with with comments- thanks everyone, parents and children alike, for sharing your story! Sounds like for the vast majority having different names was no problem at all.
