I’m 20 and a college student, and I usually go out clubbing with my friends during the weekends to have some fun. I’ve decided to wear a short skirt today because there was a theme that we were going for and my night was immediately ruined.

I was too drunk but I remember men getting so close to me and having their hands all over my body (especially around my thighs, trying to reach higher), and despite my efforts in asking them politely to step back- they kept insisting on forcing me to make out so I spent the whole night running away from them and I was always on guard. There was this guy that kept following me around and begging to take me home and I said no multiple times, I even started yelling at him at some point. This does not happen when I wear something with more coverage like jeans which only makes it feel like it was my fault. I can’t help but think, how hard is it to keep your distance? I unfortunately don’t have supportive friends when it comes to that matter, they’d tell me to cover up and that’s what clubs are for (to be assaulted?).
