  Yea, it’s a shame. I’ve had fun here. Nostr is a mess in the exact way my brain despises.

  Why not just turn the tables, defederate from everyone, and use this like old school forms? Federation is a flawed idea anyway. Censorship free Lemmy Instance! Much easier when you run the site.

  OTOH we also can’t have a BDFL. Really, the ideal way doesn’t exist for us… But in any case, twitter clone is clearly the wrong answer…

  We could move on to scuttlebutt, that’s some cool shit.

    Even the guy who made scuttlebutt moved to nostr.

    It was just to hard to use. And every attempt to make it easier made it work more like nostr.

    But in the end nostr was inspired by scuttlebutt and torrent trackers

  Lemmy wasn’t made for decentralization, anyone who says that is a liar, it was made for tyrants to create their own sanitized space for members of their cults to get together.

  Still though it’s the best we have until Nostr officially has widespread support for Communities and has a Decent Reddit style frontend. At the current time it isn’t really viable due to the fact it’s currently a Twitter clone that doesn’t facilitate this kind of discussion thread content.

  Also No, Hashtags aren’t communities, they are the equivalent of post or comment flairs and trying to use them as a community gives a very messy and cluttered feeling.

  Disappointed mostly. I think Idgaf about any other lemmy instances really.

  Will try nostr but since I don’t like it as much, I can’t see myself using it as much and probably eventually either drifting around again or maybe spending more time on self improvement (diet/exercise, learning career stuff, learning survival skills, etc)

      Ok, fair enough . But I’m not really sure where you’re going with this.

      Do you mean just be extra extra careful about screen names/personal info and avoid getting doxxed? That we can still always find our old posts on other instances? something else?
