I know I’m quite late to the party on this one. I just binged Claws. It started off pretty heavy for me - I’m not typically one for violent shows. I tried an episode a day until I got hooked so bad that I didn’t want to space it out anymore.
The ending to the series made it all worth watching. That, to me, was a masterclass in how to end a show. Elsbeth, High Potential, and Matlock were all on winter break and I was craving some drama. Carrie Preston has been fun to watch as Elsbeth (and previously enjoyed her in True Blood) and I love Niecy Nash Betts, so I figured I’d give Claws a try. I am not disappointed. I’m a person that sometimes avoids the last episode of shows because they can be too syrupy sweet or leave me wanting more or leaves too much unanswered. I can’t stop thinking about how impressed I am with the ending. It’s a wild ride, but if you’ve considered watching the show, I’d totally recommend it. (Streaming on Hulu and Disney; 4 seasons)
