Lost is my all time favorite show but that doesn’t mean it’s the best. That’s a topic for another day but when you mention the Sopranos, you can say that some other shows are truly great and can compare like Mad Men, Breaking Bad, The Wire, and some others.

Lost doesn’t seem to have that. Sure, there have been plenty of knockoff attempts but I can’t really think of a show that has had a sustained run that captured an audience the way Lost did. Fringe seems to be the one that people always bring up but I don’t think it had the same global impact that Lost did.

Westworld tried for a bit then went off the rails. Yellowjackets is another one but it has also kind of died down and people aren’t really liking it much. The best successor to Lost is currently Severance and it’s not even close. It’s only been one season and it reminds me so much about what made Lost great.

So many shows are good in their own right but they just don’t seem to grab the audience the way Lost did. The way people obsessed about Game of Thrones was the same way fans obsessed about Lost back in the 2000’s.
