I remember running Inkscape years ago and thinking “This is confusing… back to Adobe Illustrator.”

I have no idea when the major GUI overhaul happened, or if I just happen to be smarter these days (doubt it), but after trying it again yesterday, I must say I am very impressed.

Yesterday, I managed to create a decent looking resume from scratch with LESS EFFORT than my previous attempt in Adobe Illustrator. I actually think Inkscape offers a much more intuitive workflow.

My previous workflow consisted of running a virtual machine with Windows (I know… I feel dirty.) and from there I’d run Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat. This, of course, messes with the performance.

I only ever used Acrobat as a means of adding hyperlinks to the PDF I’d create with Illustrator. Inkscape is able to export to PDF with working links.

This means I can now finally get rid of the virtual machine. I’ll use Gimp instead of Photoshop :P
