Whay I began to notice was that Lisa became a much more central character within the franchise than Bart as the show continued. Whereas Bart was given less to do, though he always managed to be a scene stealer.
I didn’t complain because some of the show’s best episodes were about Lisa like Lisa’s Substitute and because Lisa was the most “normal” member of the family, she became the ideal straight woman for the insanity she faced.
Bart kind of become one-note after his best years were over. He worked best as a supporting character than a lead.
