my mom is a lesbian, and my dad is/was a dope fiend my whole life. so he’s been out of the house since i was 6. i’m 21 now, and in the past 15 years we haven’t really had any type of relationship. i never enjoyed spending time at his place because it was always super uncomfortable for me. he’s made weird remarks and has been pretty inappropriate with physical touch in the past. anyways, all this to say: i’ve had a boyfriend now for the past 2 years, and my dad is really weird about it. if he calls on the phone, he’ll talk about how he would beat my boyfriend up if he does anything to me etc etc. it really makes me uncomfortable because he doesn’t know my boyfriend, and he barely knows me…i try to continue talking to my father because he’s a very lonely man with no one else to talk to. but it always makes me so uncomfortable being in his presence or anything like that. and these weird comments about my boyfriend and i are super offputting. should i cut contact with him? or am i overreacting?
