I don’t think the order is surprising and I wish I had done a better job tracking these but the prices have been consistently going down the last couple of days. I really hope we get good crowds for the Peach, Sugar and Fiesta (I don’t doubt the Rose Bowl will be the Rose Bowl).
I’m really worried the Benz is going to be lifeless for a 1pm New Year’s day kickoff between two teams that aren’t located near Atlanta. I know the Sugar Bowl has a good amount of sway, but I think it’s going to be a major talking point to just let the top three teams pick their preferred sites instead of the Big Ten champ just going to the Rose and the SEC team having to go to the Sugar if it’s a QF.
The Big Ten Champion is almost assuredly always going to pick the Rose Bowl and the SEC champion is going to pick New Orleans a lot of the time, but in the interest of making sure the stadiums are as packed as they should be Georgia should be in the Peach and Arizona State should be in the Fiesta.
