People talk about (wanted or unwanted) male attention like it’s something that even the most conventionally unattractive women experince regularly. The thing is, I’m in my mid twenties and I’ve never got any male attention in my whole life. I’ve been called ugly a few times, but even ugly women supposed to get at least catcalled sometimes. It’s not like I want attention from creepy men but the lack of it makes me feel like a freak.
A few days ago I saw a man hitting on a below average looking, slightly overweight woman in public. She rejected him because she was allegedly in a relationship, so the man apologized, wished her well and told her that she looked beutiful. I’m not gonna lie, I’ve got a bit jealous.
When I tell other women I get zero attention from men they think I’m lying or I’m too blunt to notice it. It’s like a universal female experience to be desired by men and I just feel shut out. They also say it’s easy for a woman to get sex but even ‘ugly’ man seem to avoid me (trust me, I tried to get their attention).
