I know A.P. Bio was cancelled a few years ago, but I’m just seeing it now. This has nothing to do with the show itself, and only with an annoyance I have with the opening credits that look like an AP Bio textbook.

The pictures don’t match the text! The first credit shows some insects (butterfly, beetles, etc.) in glass, but the paragraph of text is talking about plant cells and photosynthesis. Weirdly, the image caption is of butterfly genera and species, but not of the butterfly that’s in the image. The next credit has text talking about dinosaur fossils, with a picture of 3 potted plants. The next one talks about genes and has a picture of potted plants (this one’s fine I guess). Then there’s one talking about nerve cells with a picture of a potted plant. Why wouldn’t they use one of the three pictures of plants with the text that’s talking about plants?

I’m a biology nerd so I geek out on this kind of stuff, and it bothers me every time the intro plays. I guess the teacher wouldn’t want any AP Bio learning so its pointing to that? Probably it’s just that they just put it together, and its not a bio class it’s a TV show, and not a particularly realistic one. But why wouldn’t they just put an image of what the text is talking about? I feel like I’m one of the class’s students and the show is making fun of me for wanting to learn biology
