I have never been a big follower of the MAC, but with this newest round of realignment and its horrendous dismemberment of my beloved Pac-12 and the birth of NFL Lite, this year will be my first year of being a true MAC fan. It is a conference that has been pretty much untouched since the 1970s. From what I have watched and read about it, it is pure perfection. I’ll be out at a restaurant and catch a glimpse of a game between geographic and historical rivals. It’s -3, there are 5 inches of snow on the ground, the score is 14-3, and nobody is in the stands. What is better than that? In a world where we have all become so accustomed to bigger and better (IMO worse) conferences. This year we should be taking a moment to take a step back and relish in some football that truly encompasses what we all have grown to love about the sport. Though I will still be catching the Utes and the Sooners, I will be trying my best to watch the Toledo Rockets and the Northern Illinois Huskies.
