So I finished watching The Leftovers and honestly its the best show I have ever seen.
However one question has been lingering on my mind since I finished it. In the finale Nora Durst tells Kevin Garvey that she actually went to the “other side” and saw her kids and husband and came back. While watching the show it didn’t even occur to me that she could be lying however the more I think about it the more I feel that she was lying.
Her story definitely has a lot of holes and a lot of what she describes definitely seems very implausible. And I also feel like her lying fits better with the theme of the show as the showrunner himself stated that this show is about the stories we will tell ourselves to cope with an event which is absolutely unexplainable in the natural scheme of things like the sudden departure and this was her version of that.
This signals that she is ready to move on from losing her kids and the fact that kevin believed her gave her even more strength.
What do you guys who have seen the show think ?
