It’s pretty interesting watching old school shows (crazy that even a whopping 20 years ago is still the 21st century by the by) that show the guy character pursuing harassing/stalking the the girl character, either a guest character or otherwise, and the show not only portrays this as charming, but plays sad music when the girl “won’t even give him a shot” and go out on 1 date with him. And tries to portray the woman as in the wrong. And the character demands an explanation from the woman, portraying to the audience that he is “owed” an explanation for why she won’t go out with him. Which usually serves as an excuse to prove the woman character “wrong” and that the guy character is “different” and she should give him a chance.

It’s not even just mediocre shows that do this, even great shows were not exempt from this kinda storyline.

Imagine an entire culture having grown up on this, for decades. If not centuries. Just found that funny looking back.
