You ask people about best shows ever and you’ll often get Sopranos, Six Feet Under, Breaking Bad, etc. and other pretty dark shows. Shows with lots of very real, severe issues.
You’ll also often get comedies. The Good Place, Psych, Community, and other very funny shows that maybe occasionally touch on serious issues but mostly don’t.
So I’m curious, what are the best lighter dramas out there? Tonally I’m thinking of things like Gilmore Girls or parts of the West Wing outside of some particularly dark storyline stretches. Stuff that’s not all laughs and isn’t necessarily primarily about laughs, but also isn’t going to make you cry or feel terrible about the world.
