*This takes out private schools (schools like Wake or BC are likely around these numbers, if not lower. Their numbers are not publicly available). This is also not necessarily why they are being left out; it’s just pointing out a possible reason.

2022 ATHLETICS REVENUE

Oregon State - $41.1m(SOURCE)

Washington State - $44.4m (SOURCE)

next lowest - Mississippi State - $50.8m (SOURCE)

This is the total athletics Revenue subtracting out revenue received from the NCAA (including championships) and athletics conferences, media rights, and post-season football bowl games. This puts every school at a fair comparison, as some conferences make more (SEC/B1G), and others are obviously less. School like Boise State, Wyoming, and North Texas bring in more than Oregon State, and schools like East Carolina, Fresno State, and USF bring in more than either school.

Now, I really hope that they can end up in a power conference, and I’m pretty gutted for their fans (who are the biggest losers in this wave of realignment), but the Mountain West (or at least with some of those schools in a new Pac12) would be relatively in line with where they likely will end up, at least in terms of revenue.

You can find all of the data on the schools here:
