Not gonna lie, this last week or so has been absolute death for OSU and Wazzu fans. It’s difficult to feel anything but pain and depression right now. The college football that we all know and love is ending, and it’s hard to feel any kind of optimism.
But that’s the thing about Beaver fans (and our beautiful Cougs); we don’t give up. Even after being the worst P5 school a few years ago (fuck you Gary Andersen), Oregon State turned it around and just had it’s 3rd 10 win season in team history. It’s not the first time Oregon State has pulled itself out from the depths of hell, and it won’t be the last.
There’s a new motto that’s been circulating in the Oregon State social media sphere which seems like a perfect battle cry for the team/fans to adopt: Beavers Never Say Die
Not only is it a perfect movie reference (the Goonies were filmed in Oregon ICYDK), but it encapsulates how all of us are feeling during these dark times. We’re just a couple of misfits that no one believes in, but we believe in ourselves and that’s all that matters. The networks might not care about us and people may think we’re losers, but we never die.
This kind of resiliency is why I love this team, and why I’ll never stop.
