Hey so I posted this situation in AITA and everyone is saying I am but when I tell my girlfriends about it they’re saying my friend is being a baby so I’m just confused.
So last week I asked my friend if he could locate something for me because I forgot it at the volleyball court we go to. He responded by giving me advice on how to not loose things. I was annoyed but I wasn’t too mad because I ended up finding the missing glasses. I was telling my friend the story when she arrived at the volleyball court and at that moment my guy friend also arrived as I’m telling her that he was giving me unsolicited advice in a time of anxiety. He goes on and on about how I don’t listen to him because he’s a man and that I’m going to end up losing all my things- in a “joking” manner. I tell him to “please stop talking” continuously to then just saying flat out saying “shut the fuck up”.
We normally texted everyday but now he’s been avoiding me/ignoring me and purposely not including me in the group chat we’re in when he invites other people. At first I felt bad, but my friend (who witnessed the whole encounter) told me that he was purposely pushing my buttons and that he “shouldn’t dish it if he can’t take it”. She also reminded me of the times he would call be a “bitch” and that it’s not like I called him any names in front of a big group.
What sucks is that the longer time passes, the more I’m thinking maybe he doesn’t deserve my friendship and that I’m okay with him out of my life. I don’t know if I should fight for this friendship or just wait until he makes the move to talk to me (since it’s him who’s mad-not me).
