The recent news about Syria got me thinking about my wife’s and my favorite show: Homeland. It had an interesting way of making you feel involved in global conflicts by showing the (potentially inaccurate) actuality of a situation. It was political-adjacent and world event-adjacent without being specifically about those things. It was such a great show with amazing pacing, interesting characters, good acting, and (most importantly) it sets its premise and sticks to that premise. I am not sure how accurate the show is, but it does a great job of seeming authentic and accurate. All of that is to say that I would love nothing more than a continuation or reboot of Homeland in today’s global climate. it would be a great watch. I am also curious if there are other shows that have a similar vibe where you don’t have to ignore inaccuracies and inconsistencies.
