15 South Carolina vs. #20 Illinois

17 BYU vs. #23 Colorado

13 Miami vs. #18 Iowa State

I thought that was interesting, but it’s not surprising now that the CFP has swallowed up 8 additional ranked teams, leaving the other 13 teams in the Top 25 to be selected from. Also, the bowl tie-ins likely decrease the odds of a ranked vs. ranked match-up.

Personally, I wish tie-ins could be dropped in favor of 6 ranked vs. ranked games, with #25 being the odd one out
