I just watched the reunion — you’ve gotta be fucking kidding me. Seriously. Let’s not even begin to talk about Pretty and Siya, because I think we’re all in agreement that Pretty was emotionally abusive (and possibly still is based on her inability to take accountability for that) and Siya doesn’t believe he can do better.

I came to talk about Nancy and Bohale, because WTF.

NANCY. This man cheated on you on international television, had cheated on you before then, and lied about all of it. On top of that, he’s obviously controlling and manipulative in other aspects of your relationship. The way he treated Mia before and after sleeping with her makes it obvious that he doesn’t view women as much more than objects. The fact that he did all of this with an international audience, with 0 NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES, makes it obvious that if he knows you will never fully hold him accountable, and he will absolutely do it again, if he’s not doing it now.

And now there’s a mf baby.

You’ve trapped yourself with someone who does not care to respect you, nor consider your feelings, and will wrong you repeatedly because you’ve made it clear that you will tolerate it as long as he gives you a halfhearted apology afterward. Many of us have been there; I don’t think it makes you weak. But you deserve WAY better, and I really hope you act on that truth.

To any person in a similar situation, trying to make things work with someone who has wronged you in the same ways repeatedly, know this — they could have changed already. Treating your partner with respect and kindness may take some getting used to for people who truly have no idea how to do it, but if someone is dedicated to it, it will be obvious, consistent, and immediate. Anyone who makes you feel bad for “expecting them to change overnight” has no true intention of making true and lasting betterment of themselves for your behalf. If they truly are trying, you will see and feel that.

Ultimately, anyone who is capable of hurting you in the same way repeatedly, even after you’ve asked them not to, is not worth staying with. No partner is perfect, but there is a HUGE grey area between being an imperfect partner, and cheating and abuse.

If you do not know your worth, hear me when I say this — you do not deserve to be cheated on and/or abused — physically, emotionally, mentally, or sexually — by anyone, ESPECIALLY a romantic partner. You deserve every bit of love and respect that you give them. If you don’t receive that, please leave, for the sake of your own mental health and peace.
