So I’ve watched the first couple of seasons of HIMYM and I have to say that Barney Stinson is a total douchebag. he’s a misogynistic jerk. His constant womanizing and disrespect for women is just plain wrong. It’s not cool to treat women like objects. I mean, the writers could have done so much better with his character. They could have given him some depth, some vulnerability. Instead, they just made him a one-dimensional caricature of a toxic man. It’s a shame, really.
Hes a total outlier in the friend group. Like a character from a completely different show, plopped into the middle of this otherwise grounded sitcom. He has zero chemistry with the rest of the gang, and his storylines often feel forced and disconnected. It’s like the writers couldn’t figure out what to do with him, so they just let him run wild, spouting nonsense and chasing skirts.
