What’s a character in a show that you didnt like the first time watching, but ended up coming around to and now really like (even when you watch back earlier episodes)? Or, vice versa, I character you liked at first that you grew not to like?
For the first one, an example of that for me is Kevin from This is Us- from the beginning and throughout most of my first watch he annoyed me and I thought he was the weakest character in the main cast, but by the end of the show I felt like I truly understood and respected/cared for him, and now on rewatch I like him even in the beginning! Another one is Emma Pilsberry (the guidance counselor) from Glee- similar situation where she bothered me when I first started watching but she began to grow on me and now I adore her and appreciate her performance throughout the show.
An example of a character that I really like when I first watched but now dont enjoy is Greg from Succession. He was my favorite character when I first started the show and I thought he was hilarious, but after watching the whole show, I feel like the majority of the other characters have these great deep arcs where as greg is kind of a one-trick-pony w comedic relief, and the only development he has is becoming a shittier person. Now that Im rewatching the show, I dont find him nearly as funny as I did the first time around!
