I was reading about OSU’s “Gold Pants” tradition and thought it was interesting Michigan was wearing all-white uniforms during their 2024 win at Ohio Stadium.

Interestingly, it looks like Michigan has avoided wearing Gold Pants for the latest string of games where OSU’s players have not won gold pants;

  • 2019: Gold Pants, OSU win
  • 2020: No Pants, No Contest
  • 2021: Blue Pants, Michigan win
  • 2022: White Pants, Michigan win
  • 2023: Blue Pants, Michigan win
  • 2024: White Pants, Michigan win

What this implies is that if Michigan wears gold pants during their 2025 matchup at home, then smart money would be on OSU. This concludes my hard-hitting quant analysis.

EDIT: Unfortunatly I have been informed Michigan’s preferred pants color is “maize” and this analysis is no longer valid. Please only place bets at your own risk.
