I can’t take hormonal birth control, nor have an IUD due to 1, a hormone issue and 2, uterine fibroids. I also can’t get my tubes tied (or a hysterectomy) because even though it’s a shitty teardown of an option, some man might want to rent my uterus to grow a baby in, and for some reason, a doctor gets to decide that for me.
Condoms, ugh - and female condoms have come a long way but still might as well be a Ziploc bag you’re shoving up there.
So why can’t I get a barrier method of birth control? I have looked into diaphragms, cervical caps, and the sponge and none are available in Canada, or, if they are, the hoops to jump through are unbelievable.
I just want more options that aren’t hormonal, easy to access, and that I can control
