Original Title: “The combination of NIL money of the teams UMass played this season is a combined $48,798,653 million dollars to our $36,000. And we played how many teams so close?!” — Wife of fired UMass coach Don Brown

Deborah Brown posted it to X:

Don Brown had success in his first stint at UMass, back when it was FCS, culminating in a #2 runner-up finish in the national championship, but brought back after Walt Bell (2-23) the Minutemen struggled an FBS independent (they will join the MAC) but haven’t been completely lost in games.

UMass lost last weekend to Liberty in OT, they also lost earlier this season in OT @ Miami of Ohio. They also have 3 SEC opponents culminating in this weekend’s game at Georgia under an interim head coach

Without proper institutional support, it will be a hard for the next coach to bring home wins to the hallowed grounds of The Junkyard 😤.
