You ideally skipped the conference championship. Play the worst team in the playoffs (12 seed) then get to play the worst conference champ (really an 7-9 seed or lower dressed up as a 4 seed) before having to potentially play the #1 overall seed.

The number 1 seed has to play most likely a 2-loss SEC team in their first round after having to have won and played their conference championship game against another top seeded playoff team (Oregon vs OSU let’s say) so a much harder path.
