I think Apple was just too early to market this go-around, and being a first-mover did not work out for them.

In 6-7 years the landscape will probably be much different, the demographics will have changed slightly, and a primary streaming deal will be much more appealing. If Apple, being the behemoth they are, really want to get into more sports - they’ll take lessons learned and offer a much more enticing media deal the next go-around.

I can see them partnering with the Big 12, as ESPN/Fox will shell out most of their money to the B1G/SEC, and it may be the Big 12’s best option similar to the PAC’s but under much more favorable market conditions.
