The Big 12 is not getting a full pro rata increase from ESPN or FOX for Utah and Arizona State, according to Chris Williams of Cyclone Fanatic on his podcast released today. (Skip to 13:08)
He says the league decided to take less money when the TV partners requested it, and it still expanded to 16 so that the Pac-12 would not remain in competition with the Big 12.
It’s not clear from what he said if the league is getting any additional money for schools 15 and 16 or not. If it doesn’t, the previously reported 31.7M would turn out to be 27.7M for 14 shares split 16 ways.
