I don’t use my mic anymore while gaming due to harassment and being berated for just being a girl. Here’s why;
I play Overwatch2 a ton. It’s a game I played almost since it’s first release. I’m really good at tank and healer. I use to be gold rank on both till the second game came out. I started in bronze and have since climbed out. Due to climbing and having other people doing great coms, I decided to try again with mic.
Not even a full day into it, I’m called every name under the sun. Whore, slut, bitch, cunt, etc. Whenever I make suggestions or even just asking for people to wait till we’re teamed up to push, I’m met with disdain and pure hate.
I’m tired of being the same rank as people who are berating me. I’m tired of not being seen as someone who knows the game just as well as them.
Just overall frustrated with this. Sadly I know I’m probably not alone with this.
