I now understand why my friends are so frustrated with dating apps. This is a small vent and also an apology for the times I’ve said the apps “can’t be that bad”.

I’ve been using Bumble BFF for a few weeks. It’s a great place to make gal pals, they say. I matched and chatted with tons of ladies and nonbinary folks, but…

Once it came time to actually meet up in person POOF! Gone!

After a few witty messages I’d invite them out for coffee or lunch and the conversation immediately died. One lady and I had plans for a dog walk meetup - time, location, even texting to reconfirm - annnnnd it’s gone! Got stood up.

This isn’t romantic dating so that added pressure isn’t even present! So what’s with this flakery?! Y’all, I’m sorry for any BS you’ve experienced on apps (dating or platonic). I can’t even imagine using a dating app now!

I’m going back to trying to meet people in the real world. I’ve had more success at the dog park, grocery store, and local dive bar. If you’re also working on expanding your social circle, give these places a shot!

Best of luck out there! Make all the friends! 💛
