Original Title: Unpopular reality: WOC are more likely to be given negative descriptors in their patient files by doctors and nurses. That is race and gender based discrimination and IDC if people here don’t want to hear it.
The other day there was a discussion thread about doctor’s notes on patient “attitude”. I got down voted for posting a peer reviewed study (one of many) that points out that POC are “2.5 times more likely” to recieve negative descriptors in their patient files. I’m shouting this fact louder for those who are offended, medical professional or not, because solidarity is an important part of sisterhood, and calling out race and gender bias in healthcare needs to happen until it stops. I give zero fucks about the fragility of those who may get their feelings hurts. Black women and WOC are more likely to die in any medical crisis, largely from this exact bias.
Edit: it is Black patients in general and times not percent.
