I would argue that it’s Texas. They demanded their own TV network without equal revenue sharing with the rest of the Big 12 schools. This was the catalyst for CU, NU, TAMU, and Mizzou leaving the Big 12.
Everything that has followed was set in motion by Texas and the Longhorn Network, which, ironically, will be folded into the SEC Network when Texas joins the SEC.
