I am active in a social dance community that spans the nation. It's also a fairly "gendered" dance, as in there's a role for the "guys" and a role for the "girls". There are hundreds of dances around the country, with multiple each week in the big cities. We are all under a national organization that provides 501(c)(3) status so that we can all operate as non-profits.
So, there has been a major push to un-gender the dance, and to me, it exemplifies how capitalism/voluntarism is vastly superior to socialism/authoritarianism. For years, a small group of vocal community members have pushed to un-gender the dance so that guys, girls, and anyone in between can feel comfortable dancing whichever role they want. As you'd expect, the authoritarian/socialist types in our communities make lots of noise and demand that groups change how the dances are structured. They demand the national organization pass down demands for groups to change. This has gone on for years with little success. They don't seem to get that just demanding everyone change for you doesn't work.
On the other hand, the occasional organizer has decided "screw this, let's just make a new dance!" where they do the same dancing but on a different night and a different location than whatever the current group is doing.
And guess what? The new dances see tons of success because it turns out that most people want un-gendered dances or really don't care. Many un-gendered dances quickly outperform the legacy dances.
Why is this relevant? Because as usual, the authoritarians get nothing done and try to force everyone to do what they want. In contrast, the free market creates competitive dances, allowing people to voluntarily decide their flavor of dance. Also known as success.
Capitalism and voluntarism are superior. End of story.
