I’m fucking sick of this happening so much. I have to wear a name tag + my name is on some documents patients get because I work in healthcare.

I love my job but this has been really bothering me lately because it’s beyond creepy and super unsettling. It’s been happening more and more. Stop violating people’s privacy.

Yes, social media is social, but have some fucking common sense and respect.

And since it’s ALWAYS men, you know it’s not people just being friendly. I don’t mind being friedly and making small talk with people. I just want them to respect my boundaries - you don’t actually know me, you just happened to interact with me via my work. Let’s leave it at that.

I also got tons of comments in some other thread telling me I shOulD bE GraTeFuL fOr thE aTTenTioN. To those people: you’re a bunch of ignorant, vile, entitled shits. There IS such a thing as negative attention. There is such a thing as feeling like you’re fucking objectified EVERYWHERE, even at your job. There is such a thing as being creepeed out, for a good reason, because of your privacy being violated.

Yes, being curious is normal to an extent. Have I ever google someone I thought was interesting that I interacted with at work? I sure did. But you know what I didn’t do? I didn’t message them and it came even came into my brain for a second to be a creep. It’s really not that hard. Try it.

Fuck, I’m mad.
