First the Next Gen Stat Nugget
I found this almost unbelievable so I wanted to verify it. And I verified it is worse than the Next Gen Stat…
The first graphic shows the last winning streak. It was weeks 11 -13 but it looks like they had a bye in week 12, so the winning streak was 2 games(Nov 21, 2021 & Dec 5, 2021). They lost the game on Nov 14 and the one on Dec 14.
There are 5 more regular season games and a playoff game, so the streak is 6 total games.
They lose the last game of 2021 and the wild card game, so no streak heading into 2022. They win the first preseason game of 2022, but lose they last 2. So still 5 regular season games, but now 9 games in total.
Then they go the entire 2022 regular season without back to back wins. That gets the regular season streak to 22, and all games to 26.
They lose the last game of 2022, but win the first presason game in 2023. They lose the second preason game, but win the 3rd heading into 2023 with momentum. The three preseason games bring the all games streak to 29.
They lose the 1st game of 2023, aand go the entire season without back to back wins again. The regular season streak is at 39, and all games now sits at 46.
Again they lose the last game of 2023, but that’s ok because they lose all three 2024 preseason games. That gets the All Games streak to 49(regular season at 39).
They have gone all seven games in 2024 without back to back wins bringing the regular season streak to 46(per the Next Gen Stat), and the All Games without back to back wins streak to 56.
They beat the Chargers in Week 7. They have the wounded Dolphins in Week 8. They have a little Joe DiMaggio mojo…
If they fall this week, they have the Pats on Dec 15, the Panthers on Dec 22, and the Rams on Dec 29th. So barring a run of ineptitude that no team, other than themselves, is capable of this streak should end in 2024.
Then again, it is the Cardinals…
