My friend Becky has a fella called Dave. They live together and are in their 30s. Dave is mildly autistic. At Dave’s job he recently made a joke to a colleague which she reported to management. This has led to his future at the place being called into question and he’s been suspended.

He won’t tell her what the joke was but says he will fight it because he has integrity.

Her stance is one of defending him: “it’s he said/she said, and the woman is always believed over the man”, “its easier for management to fire him than to deal with it”, “he’s autistic so its difficult for him”, etc.

I don’t know how to communicate my opinion on this without upsetting my friend, I’ve come here for some thoughts and maybe some help on things I could say as I tend to be too frank with this stuff.
