For context I work in a project management client side consultancy for social infrastructure builds ( i specialise in hospital construction) in Australia.
I (F34) recently got promoted to Project Director. A very senior position I had to fight really hard for. It’s a highly competitive position etc etc I was at a work function tonight, and one of the other Project Directors had a few too many drinks and told me some of the other directors had fought against my promotion because I’m “too emotional”.
What the actual eff? I actually don’t know how to behave at work now knowing this. I don’t think I’m emotional- I just fight for my team
