My husband asked if his brother could live with us for a month until he gets enough to move out I told his brother to leave within 4 days if him only staying with me and my kids who are ages 12 and 7.

One evening my husband tells me that his brother is dealing with tough times and needs a place to stay. I agreed and went off cleaning the guest bed room for him. My husband brother is 27 years old he didn’t want to attend college like his older sister and brother instead he worked at a small IT company nearby. The guest bedroom was upstairs near my kids rooms and ours was downstairs. I wake up in the night and just hear machine and gun noises coming from upstairs. I thought my son was playing his game upstairs so I sleepily walked up there to only see him asleep instead it was my BIL. I asked him if he could turn down the volume so we could sleep he quietly agreed and apologized for the noise. Nothing happened and I went to bed.

The next day he introduces a woman to us. He’s says this is his girlfriend and that they have been dating for 2 months now they also brought over some drinks which I didn’t like in front of the kids so I asked if we could drink a little later tonight. He agreed but his girlfriend was already drinking out of a plastic cup I told my kids to head upstairs and just started cooking dinner.

Hours go by and my husband comes home from work and we start setting the dinner table. After dinner my BIL asks if his girlfriend spends the night because it’s too late to get an Uber at this time. I ask my BIL if she had any friends that could pick her up but he says they were out of town. I simply agree at this point and hope nothing bad happens.

I wake up to my son telling me that his uncle’s girlfriend is yelling and he can’t sleep i immediately rush up stairs only to hear them loudly intimate with one another. I knocked on the door and whispered please not so loudly they continued for another 10 minutes and went quiet after. The next morning I tell my BIL to pack his stuff and leave he called an Uber and left my husband comes from work and starts yelling on how his brother made one mistake and I kicked him out. I said I wasn’t ready to deal with that for an entire month. AITA

Edit: he’s back in my house…. I’ve asked my husband to set rules with him but he’s saying that’s embarrassing for him since he’s a grown man… this is frustrating because he’s literally drinking again my kids are thankfully asleep but he’s already drunk. Idk if I’m overreacting or not because it’s isn’t right with me what he’s doing in our home
