Source: Rich Eisen’s 5 mind blowing stats from week 4 of the NFL. Maybe the craziest part of the stat is that it was the Giants that had that lead, the Texans, Packers and 49ers never had a lead against the Vikings.
I wonder what the record is for a full year. It’s gotta be pretty rare just because of the coin flip nature of who gets the first shot at scoring. A quick Google search found a couple of nuggets: The 2010 Packers never trailed by more than 7 points the entire season, and the 1984 Dolphins had 14:46 trailing over their first 10 games, but I couldn’t find anything about the best record for an entire season.
