For us it was easily the 2000 Buckeyes (John Cooper’s last season here). A few examples:
- Players dancing on the W logo at Wisconsin after beating them and then going out and laying an egg at home against Minnesota the following week.
- Two of our starting offensive linemen (Tyson Walter and LeCharles Bentley) were actively embroiled in a lawsuit with each other that year due to LeCharles punching out Walter during spring ball for throwing a racial slur at him. Tressel somehow managed to get them to make peace with each other when he came in the following year (which was a huge indictment on Cooper’s leadership).
- Players constantly attacking each other publically via the media prior to the Outback Bowl (see Matt Wilhelm and Ken-Yon Rambo).
- Reggie Germany’s 0.0 GPA (and he was one of many examples of academic performance being an issue with the players that year).
- Starters getting benched for the Outback Bowl due to them showing up late to team meetings.
