I remember the news cycle and rumor mill from two years ago. The economic blood had been suddenly drained from the conference, and people had written off the Big 12. I basically had myself as well. Everywhere I looked people were drafting up what the Big 10 would look like with Iowa State or Kansas State or Kansas. It felt bad.

A year later we had four new programs, a new director, and a media deal worth $10 million more than the last. Now we’re set to effectively be the third conference on the totem poll when we may have ceased to exist.
