Hi all, I’m just shaken up and shaking and I need to vent.
I was just walking in my work’s parking lot - I have headphones on (not noise cancelling!) and I wear glasses. As I was walking by a car that appeared to be parked (no running lights), the reverse lights pop on, the driver began backing up. I yelped and leaped forward, hitting his side mirror as I jumped out of the way.
He began screaming at me for hitting his car, I was screaming at him because he purposefully backed up when I was directly behind his car. He was calling me a dumb whore, I was calling him a blind dickweed - I was pissed.
A parking monitor saw the whole altercation and said that I should have “tapped on the car” as I walked behind him because “you can’t expect him to look back”. WHEN HE’S REVERSING IN A PEDESTRIAN AREA?
I lost my temper completely when this guy proceeded to call me a “stupid cunt” and the attendant just laughed.
I couldn’t even deal, so I just took a photo of the plate, recorded the parking attendants name, and I’m going to see if I can at least report the attendant and go to upper admin about this. They even recorded it on video - but I’m just so mad. He clearly backed out into me on purpose. He could have killed me.
Fuck this. I’m just so done. I can’t even go to work not on my guard.
