Now that the SEC has transitioned to a divisionless 8-game scheduling format for their 16-team conference, I was wondering if we could see more than 2 teams finish the regular season undefeated. Lately, I discovered that amongst the six SEC teams ranked in the Top 7 of the AP Poll, 4 of those teams do not play each other. Those teams being #1 Texas, #5 Ole Miss, #6 Tennessee, and #7 Missouri. This means that we could potentially see 1 or 2 teams finish the regular season undefeated and not play in the SEC Championship game. On the flip side, those 1 or 2 undefeated team(s) would most likely be guaranteed the #5 seed or both the #5 and #6 seeds, granting them a home game in the First Round, per the 12-team College Football Playoff.

Thoughts?
